Background
WaterlooWorks+ came to life through my experience of using WaterlooWorks (University of Waterloo's internal job board) for the first time. With hundreds of job postings, it was difficult to quickly understand which roles I was actually qualified for. Most job descriptions were long, making it time-consuming to go through them line by line and match them against my skillset. Constantly doing this made the process inefficient, which led me to build a Chrome extension that simplifies this decision-making process directly on the platform.
Overview
WaterlooWorks+ is a Chrome extension that injects an analysis panel directly into WaterlooWorks job pages, allowing users to compare their resume against a job posting without leaving the platform. It highlights alignment with job requirements and provides quick, actionable feedback, reducing the need to manually scan lengthy descriptions.
